How do I activate my Diaz Editor license?

Open Diaz Editor, go to menu → License → paste the key from your welcome email and click Activate. The license is HMAC-signed and activates online once. For AppSumo, DealMirror or PitchGround codes, redeem first at diazatlas.com/redeem to receive a Diaz license key.

Can I activate Diaz Editor offline?

License activation requires internet access once to verify the HMAC signature. After activation, the license runs offline indefinitely. Re-validation is only triggered when you change devices or stack additional codes.

What does 'Invalid license key' mean?

The key is malformed or refers to a license that does not exist. Check for leading or trailing spaces, copy the full DIAZ-XXXX-XXXX-... block from the welcome email, and confirm you are using a Diaz Editor key (not the raw AppSumo/DealMirror code). Marketplace codes must be redeemed at diazatlas.com/redeem first.

Why does the app say 'License expired' when I just bought?

Clock skew between the device and the license server. Set the device clock to automatic and reactivate. If the error persists, contact juan@diazatlas.com with the license key — Diaz Editor lifetime licenses do not have an expiration date.

Can I transfer my license to a new device?

Yes. Open the License panel on the old device and click Deactivate (frees the seat). Then activate on the new device with the same key. Pro tier includes 3 seats stacked, so for typical workflows you do not need to deactivate first.

3 ways to get a license

1. Direct purchase (€99 founding / €500+ regular)

Buy at diazatlas.com/beta. Pay via Stripe or Lemon Squeezy. Within 30 seconds you receive a welcome email with your license key.

2. Marketplace code (AppSumo / DealMirror / PitchGround)

After purchase on an LTD marketplace you receive a redemption code. Visit diazatlas.com/redeem, paste the code + your email, and you receive a Diaz license key.

3. Affiliate link (extra discount)

Click an affiliate link (e.g. diazatlas.com?ref=PARTNER) → you automatically get the affiliate price at checkout. Affiliate ID is remembered for 60 days.

Open Diaz Editor
Click menu → License (or Help → License)
Click "Enter key"
Paste your license key (format: DIAZ-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
Click "Activate"
Green checkmark = success. Tier + seat-count visible at bottom.

✓ Activation works offline. The HMAC-signed key is validated locally. For seat-count check (multi-device) we need a one-time internet connection.

Stacking codes (Tier 2 / 3)

AppSumo / DealMirror / PitchGround Tier 2 + Tier 3 deals = N codes stacked for more seats. Process:

Redeem first code at diazatlas.com/redeem with your email → get license key
For 2nd/3rd code: go to /redeem again, paste new code + same email
Backend sees same email → UPDATE seat_count automatically (no new key needed)
Open Diaz Editor → menu → License → "Manage seats" → see total seats + active devices

Seat limit reached?

If you try to activate more devices than your seat-count allows:

Oldest inactive device drops automatically (≥30 days unused)
Or: open menu → License → "Manage seats" → click "Revoke" next to a device
Or: buy an additional stack code for +N seats

Common errors

"Invalid license key"

Check for typos — key is case-sensitive and must be exactly 9 blocks (DIAZ-AAAA-BBBB-CCCC-DDDD-EEEE-FFFF-GGGG-HHHH). Copy-paste from welcome email to avoid typos.

"License expired" (when you just bought)

Your PC clock may be wrong. Open Windows Settings → Time & language → Time → "Sync now". On Mac: System Settings → General → Date & Time.

"License revoked"

Your license has been deactivated, usually via refund. You can still open existing projects, but export + save are blocked. Email juan@diazatlas.com if this is a mistake.

Transferring license

Licenses are tied to email address. Switching device:

On old device: menu → License → "Deactivate" (frees seat)
On new device: paste same key
Sale / transfer to another person: email juan@diazatlas.com with old + new email
