Philosophy

We build what installers need today, not what sounds good in an investor pitch. Every feature has a real-user use-case. If something can't ship within 90 days: it's not on the roadmap.

What we're not building (and why)

Deliberate choices

No mandatory cloud. Cloud sync comes in v0.6 but stays opt-in. Local-first stays the default forever.
No subscription model. Lifetime licenses stay the core product. Optional add-ons (cloud-sync, premium support) may be yearly.
No FERC / NEM 3.0 compliance reports. That's Aurora's domain. We actively send you to Aurora if you need this.
No LIDAR-grade shade modelling. Manual + horizon shading covers 90% of residential. For the other 10%: PVsyst.
No utility rate-tariff database. Maintaining 230 NL providers + ES regional rates is a full-time job. Not our focus.
No tracker-system simulation. For utility-scale tracker projects, PVsyst and Helioscope are the right tools.

How often is the Diaz Editor roadmap updated?

The public roadmap is updated whenever something ships: delivered items move to the changelog. We no longer publish target dates for what has not shipped — we missed the ones we published before.

Can founding-beta members influence the roadmap?

Yes. Founding members get a private feedback board. Top-voted requests with clear use-cases are pulled forward in the priority list.

When will the macOS version ship?

Linux already ships as an AppImage. macOS has no build and no date — it waits on the Apple Developer certificate. Your license covers every platform we release, at no extra cost.

Will Diaz Editor add a cloud-collab feature?

Optional cloud-sync for project files is on the v0.6 list, opt-in only. The desktop app will always work fully offline. We will not require cloud accounts to use the tool.
